The Sun Continues to Shine

With the sun rising over the mountains I watch the clouds of fog fill the valleys below. The bright sun shining on me while I write, yet in the valleys people rise to an overcast morning with a chill in the air.

It reminds me that sun continues to shine.

I think of taking off in an airplane on cloudy - even rainy – days when the sun seems hidden. As the plane rises through the clouds it reaches an altitude where I can see the sun once again.

Sometimes the fog of life can leave us wondering if we had ever seen the sun, or if we had ever felt its warmth on our faces. Sometimes the rain falling mimics our tears. The fog and the rain do not hover as figments of our imagination, rather they are reality. Yet in these times we have to hold on to another truth as well…
