Day 11: Resting in Ourense

Don and I met up with his friends, Tom and Ted, this morning at a Mass in the cathedral of Ourense. They arrived last night on a flight to Madrid and then a train to Ourense. After the Mass, they decided to get out of the city and walk to Cea. I decided to stay because I need to rest my leg. Edith wanted to stay to rest her foot. It’s amazing that on Sunday almost everything is closed - except for restaurants and hotels. Fortunately, we found the one pharmacy in the city that stays open on Sundays. There I found a compression sock and some anti-inflammatory pills for my shin splints. Even though it was a rest day, my watch still clocked 12KM as I walked around the city for the pharmacy, places to eat lunch and dinner, and to the hotel. I look forward to walking to Cea tomorrow.
