Fluttering Chaos

The disorienting veil of tears and the disruptive chaos of grief

make it hard to know to what’s next

to do what’s next

to believe there will be a next…

Yet just as God hovered over the chaos and waters of creation in the beginning of all things;

She will flutter over the chaotic waters of your grief and make all things new;

calling forth light into your present and breathing life into your future.

~ Inspiration for this poem came the other day after a conversation with colleagues about the formlessness of grief and how the Bible offers a framework to help us work through grief,

instead of passing it off or trying to cover it up. ~
