Getting to Boa Vista (Friday 27th)

Hey, Hey, the gang’s all here! After a few traveling hiccups, everyone finally arrived in Manaus on Thursday - so we took some time to explore around this city in the Amazon.

On Friday we got into the van at 3:30AM to begin the 14-hour trip to Boa Vista. The only road to take  is a two-lane highway for most of the journey, and it goes through an indigenous people’s reservation, which the country does not maintain very well. Slaloming the potholes and navigating washed out parts of the road made this section of the journey slow going. We made a fuel stops for fuel, snacks, and to straddle the equator!

Looking forward to getting to meet the pastors and see the work the Methodists are doing among the various refugee camps in this area.
