Ice Cream and S’Mores

We haven’t posted for a long time. I’ll list some possible excuses below, in case you’re interested, yet first some updates.

Courtney earned “Teacher of the Year” award from her homeschool students, and Nana earned “Pre-K Teacher of the Year” from her student.

Ceara and Caleb finished their end-of-grade exams two weeks ago, and they received confirmation of passing 6th and 5th grade! Yay!! We went out for some homemade ice cream at Two Scoops in Charlotte to celebrate the last day of school.

We also bought a fire pit to use in Nana’s back yard, and have enjoyed perfecting our S’Mores skills…

We are getting ready to move later this summer. We’ll keep the blog updated with details as we start to learn more.

Here are some of the possible excuses about the reason for not engaging in a while:

a) our placement site details kept changing and we wanted to wait until we knew something certain…

b) we had uncertainty about our placement site…

c) have I mentioned that details about our placements did not have the certainty I would have liked to write about it?

Seriously, though, we have tried to live into each day as it comes with hope and Joy amidst uncertainty.

At the same time, we tried to migrate our site from WordPress to WIX during March and encountered some difficulties. I (Dan) am still trying to problem solve, yet I think we have worked out most of the problems.

Then in early April, my uncle passed away suddenly, which left me reeling for a while. I wrote some Haiku to process my grief - maybe I’ll post them here sometime. Only this week do I finally feel like writing again.
